Re: Steel wheel question
With a Tiger or a Panther I tend to put the wheels on except the outside row. I Simply paint the inside wheels and under sides a dark brown/black as they will not really be seen when the outside row and tracks are placed on. Of the wheels fitted to the kit there will be a row which are semi exposed when final row fitted, these faces are lightly airbrushed in the camo colours allowing the black/brown to act as a preshade with any mud etc lightly applied so as not to hinder the fitting of final row. The final exterior row I paint and weather seperately and add last. With the tracks fitted and final weathering touches can then pull everything together.
Thats just me tho

Re: Steel wheel question
I tend to put the entire running gear on these models, including the tracks before beginning painting. If you can see it...you can spray it!

Re: Steel wheel question
You may be right Vinnie, but for me, the saying is more like "If you can see it, you will over-spray it."
Jim, if it was me and the camo scheme was going to carried from the hull to the wheels, I think I would temporarily attach them, spray the scheme and then rotate the wheels to keep the scheme from lining up.
