Italeri Sd. Kfz 232 6 RAD
I started this some time ago but didn't have a camera to blog it. It's back now but so are my daughter and her boyfriend from Tunisia, oh well can't have everything. The parts count is nice and small as you'd expect from a kit like this, no real flash and only small seam lines so it has stood the test of time fairly well. Only major gripe are the the ejector in marks that are poorly places, like the gun mantle and some of the smaller parts such as the indicators, nothing too serious though. I could have done with getting some Am wheels from somewhere but can't really run to that at the moment so I had to make the poorly fitting two part wheels and carefully fill the gaps. This is the kit with the resin detail parts, a little disappointing really, given the huge aerial this thing carries there is no radio set, still I wasn't intending to have the vehicle opened up too much so not a major worry. There is a nice resin engine in the kit, I haven't used this as the bonnet is closed up so I can utilise it on some other diorama in the future. My aim is to make this a Polezi vehicle somewhere in Eastern Europe/behind the lines in Russia. After Poland they were relegated to training or internal security duties due to their poor cross country performance and the increasing numbers of 8 RAD available. More to catch up on soon Simon

There's one of these in my portfolio on site Simon. As you say, it needs a lot of work, but can build into a nice kit!

Only trouble with that mate is I can't access the galleries properly. Only get a very narrow window that I can't enlarge, I have tried changing settings, changing page style, using another PC but always get the same thing. It's a real trial to try and use. Is there a fix for this do you know?

I don't understand why Italeri does this. When given the choice between a perfectly good, unseen backside and a detailed prominent front side they always seem to choose to put the pins on the latter. Ran into this all over their Marder. I will be keeping an eye on this Simon. Simon Briggs wrote: Only trouble with that mate is I can't access the galleries properly. LOL, must be something to do with that dark art of HTML, well that's the language I learnt way back when. It must be a simple fix but just what that is, who knows!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cheers for looking more updates to come. Simon

Another interesting blog to follow, dont think I have seen one of these kits blogged before. If you are using Firefox 6 then thats where the problems are , I have reverted back to the earlier version for now until there is a fix for it Deano

This latest problem with the gallery seems to have arose with an update to the latest version of Firefox. I'll speak to Jeremy and try and get a solution. On the other hand, you don't use the gallery to look at the portfolios. Just put Portfolio into the search box and it will bring them all up as features for you to browse. It's a much underused tool the searchbox y'know. Vinnie

Very nice subject, Simon! I never built it, but I've read the major trouble is the wrong front fenders.
Waiting for updates Darío

Re: Italeri Sd. Kfz 232 6 RAD
Deano - will have a look at changing Firefox back an update, might get some of my toolbar bits back again!
Vinnie - cheers I found the portfolio's, yeah as a records manager you'd think I'd be able to find stuff through the metadata and all but hey this is fun not work!
Dario - glad you mentioned that now the darned things are glued on. this is mostly OOB anyway so I'll live with it. I'll also have to live with a major mistake I've make on the bodywork but more of that whenj I have more than a few minutes to myself, after the WE probably.
