Hmmmm, that's a hard one Ygnve. You would think one of them would do the job! Woody...

 Re: Karelia, Finland
Yngve, I'm bald now purely as a result of searching for an effective matt coat. Every modeller will recommend a different brand. I've even had modellers swear by a particular brand, and their figures aren't even flat! What I'm doing at the moment is still using Humbrol, although Model Mates have a good one, that sadly still isn't available as a spray gun version, which is what I'm waiting for. I use a plastic pipette to draw off about a third of the clear liquid from a bottle of Humbol matt coat, and replace it with white spirit. Place the bottle in hot water fro about ten minutes and then give it a REALLY good stir until it's thouroughly mixed. Pipette a few drops into your airbrush, turn the pressure up to about 30 psi and then spray the smallest amount onto your figure. A seriously thin layer. It goes dead matt. You can see it going matt as you spray it if you hold it at the correct angle to the light. Spray that stuff too thick and it turns into a satin coat. That's where most people go wrong. Vinnie

 Re: Karelia, Finland
I use Vallejo matt but it is just as Vinnie says re Humbrol. You have to mix it a lot more than paint to make sure the matting agent is really well mixed. Then just thin slightly and mist onto model. Just the same, spray too wet and it will start to gloss up again. Odd thing is that my 60ml bottle is now about a year old and not much left but it has 'gone off'. If I try to thin it as I have always done, it appears to seperate and go 'stringy' blocking the airbrush straight away, need a new bottle .

 Re: Karelia, Finland
Great end result Yngve. Love everything about it. The figures, trees and ground work are very nicely done. I am going to have to get some of that "Woods in a Pot".
