 Karelia, Finland
In the quest to shrink my stashboxes I`ve chosen to build the two figures with the grenade launcher. Im converting the figures from wehrmacht gebirgjägers into norwegian volunteers. A lot of norwegian boys and men volunteered to help the Finnish people in their fight against Soviet in 1939. After the german occupation of Norway and the launch of operation Barbarossa several regiments of volunteers was recruited by waffen ss in Norway to go fight in the Finnish forests. My little diorama will depict two soldiers from "Den Norske Skijegerbataljon" `The norwegian skihunter batallion` which was destroyed under a massive russian attack on the skibattalions positions on the Kaprolat and Hasselman heights in the early summer of 1944.

Great idea Yngve and like the way this is turning out. Been thinking along the same lines lately about using figures in Vignettes to reduce the stash. Its a good way of using up figures that you wouldnt really put along side Armour .

Nice work Yngve! Is that the green floral foam you've used on your base?

 Re: Karelia, Finland
Thanks Yngve. I've heard of it being used before, but how strong is it once complete?

 Re: Karelia, Finland
It gets sturdy enough for our use when you soak it in whiteglue and let it dry. Then you can sand it or form it more with a scalpel.

 Re: Karelia, Finland
..or like this, soak some foam with the glue, let it dry alittle, shape it and press the figure into it to give it a nice fit. When its dry I can paint it black and start putting the vegetation around the figures
