Yes, I know, there are potentially many - but let's not get into that...
Although I've used PE for several of my builds, I recently had my first go at Aber German tool-clasps with workable hinges. I followed the instructions precisely - this is where the title comes in: 'I was only following orders'

and after two days of struggling I managed to get ONE done, but only by cheating and using glue...you see, the instructions called for the use of a 0.2mm piece of wire to make the hinges; but it appears the design of the PE (but, crucially, not the instructions) was changed at some point, incorporating a little PE bridge in the parts, negating the need for wire

Once the penny, Groschen, cent finally dropped, assembling the hinges became almost child's play...
