Liverpool Museum used to have a fantastic collection of large ship models such as that in your last picture John. Lots of other interesting exhibits as well. Then some complete ****head decided to split the entire collection up across multiple sites all over the city. The result is a load of average museums and some completely rubbish ones, and no great museum anymore.

Some groundwork on the base this morning.

I like to use tile grout for two reasons, it sets up quickly and has a very good Earth texture and second, I have a whole bag already on hand from our bathroom tile project a year ago which happens to be just the right color. :)

This much grout would be heavy and tend to crack while drying. I forgot to photograph the wet paper and PVA glue which is under the thin layer of grout.

I don't have the museum photos on this computer. I'll get them up in a couple of hours

Back on the correct laptop with the final museum pictures.

There's a whole wing of the museum dedication to American transportation. Several hundred ship and other types of vehicle models, all of them good. I won't even bother to explain these. But I can say that what's shown here is mostly 1/48 to 1/32 scale and is only about 5% of everything on display.

Early US railroading was also well represented.

That's all of the museum pictures I've got to display on MA. There are many more, but I didn't want to use up too much memory in the MA archive. Thanks for watching!

More faces today. The oil is fresh so everything is still glossy.

This first character is not a Hornet head. It's original to the Dragon figure.

John-
museum tour guide, hotel review site, or build log? This blog captures the organized chaos of your world.

Nice to see that kit with the base coat on. That kit was destined to sit on my shelf for many a year- so the modeling gods are pleased! :D

I'd like to see you convert this one to a feature once you've finished John. :P
