It looks like Dragon have made some improvements over the 1997 Tamiya kit. There are rivets and screw heads on this one which Tamiya did not include. The latches which hold the hood down to the fenders were completely ommitted on the 1997 Jeep. At least from the computer graphics, the engine is also significantly better. I'm glad to see those changes here.

Oddly, Dragon has completely got it wrong with the front seats. They were not a pad stretched over a frame, but rather a pad atop a stamped sheet. Strange.




I'll absolutely buy one of these if for no other reason than the "up-armored" brass package. But given all the advances made in model casting over the last 15 years, it shows what a extraordinary job Tamiya did with the vehicle in 97.
