Post German Dark Yellow
I have a technical question on this color... I have used the Tamiya Dark Yellow before thinking that it was the right color for DG... But I have the Vallejo Model Air color and it contrasts greatly with the Tamiya... Which one is correct??? Help a brother out...

I don't like either of them Jim. I'd always use Lifecolor Dunkelgelb. :)

Hi Jim

Here's some musings - don't use Tamiya so I can't comment on that

Dunkelgelb - Lifecolor/Vallejo Mixes

Rob

In truth, they're probably all correct. I don't know if that helps you or not. Vehicles, just like people, each age a little differently. Unless your model depicts something fresh from the factory, the paint tone will begin to change as soon as it is exposed to sunlight. Add in, the place it serves, the duration of service, maintenance intervals, or lack of maintenance intervals and you get the idea. So long as you're not going for a specific vehicle at a specific moment in history in history, whatever you have is probably the correct color at some point in time. Even a broken clock is correct twice daily. My advice is to use the paint which you like the best.

EDIT: I just followed Rob's link above. Yeah, what he said.

I will say of himself that faced one with a similar voprosm выбрял for themselves Vallejo, but all the same the best option remains a Life color!

I like Model Master Dunkelgelb and Polly Scale Panzer Dark Yellow. Alot of of the German Dark Yellows are very dark for scale I think and should be lightened up I think.

I tend to use Vallejo Beige these days as after a couple of filters it darkens down to a coulour I feel happy with. I doubt you'll ever get a 'spot on' answer anyway ;)
