What If? Soviet IS-46 tank: kaput
Heya, Folks,
I've been having some fun building German Paper Panzers and thought that I'd try take the "Berlin '46" approach with a Russian (and hopefully soon a U.S. tank...). Alas, the Russian tank did not fare particularly well against the German wunderweapons, and the IS-46 met a cataclysmic fate.
The build is bashed from a Tamiya T-34/76, Dragon IS-2, Trumpeter KV-2, and a Tamiya T-62, along with bits from an Trumpeter E-10, some misc. kit & model RR bits, a radio knob, some tin from a a yogurt cup, etc. etc.
Having a lot of fun with the rust and destruction (all I have ta do is look at my own car for inspiration!). Still working on it, but getting closer --- had a couple of parts fall off (the kit, not me...) prior to photography, hence, some bare plastic on the aft plate.

I still have some paint work to do, especially on the tires, which amazingly, did not melt in the firestorm which immolated the tank--- no doubt due to that "miracle rubber" the Russians developed late in the war...
Hoping to get this bucket of rust into a vignette and later a diorama with a German Gunther Walker from the Dust series...
Anyway, been a while since I've posted anything due to my work schedule --- hope to have more very soon, a minimum a base of some sort...
With Regards and Aloha,
Johnny B.
