It's not the sort of thing I would normally buy, I don't own any of the previous books or DVDs but having watched Mig explain what he does I decided to spend the money. Chris

 Re: Latest Acquisitions Thread
That looks good Phil..... what does the rear side look like? Did they fill up the turret space? ( would be interesting to cast if open?? ) Frerik

 Re: Latest Acquisitions Thread
Don't think I've ever seen one of these in the flesh...but the detail looks a little 'soft', it would be interesting to hear whatyou think on that Frerik? And Steve Reid?

 Re: Latest Acquisitions Thread
Vinnie,
Offcourse I am looking at these with "sculptors"eyes in stead of customer! I think the concept is great, and most that I have seen ( indeed none in the flesh yet ) were great in layout and dramatic setup.
Casting wise... The barrels look quite well cast from this one pic, to me obviously Tamiya barrels btw.... as do the sandbags, they look nice. A cannot say if detail is sharp or not, would have to look closely... I do spot some flash under the gun shield though...!
Con... I dislike the hits on the turretside... are they supposed to be hits, or mere gouges ( phon. ??? non-penetrated hits ! ) The way the turret is placed is nice, drama! But with no detail around back... hmmm....
I like drama on a small square: I still remember a Japanes modeller who did a 251 or 250 balanced on top of a pile of ruble and a pillar.. all on 6 square cm's... the vehicle balancing on it, half suspended in the air !
I'd love to be able to come up with idea's like these.... making them would be so much fun! Casting them, or sculpting them to be cast for that matter, is defferent though: you have to keep the casting process in mind... not everything that I can dream up is possible to cast.... !
I would have like to see some more detail on the ground, or a way to tie the turret into the revetment more...... hmmm I must pic one up at a show someday....
Frerik
