Post RIP DAVID MAYNARD 1962-2009
This morning I recieved the sad news that David Maynard, otherwise known as 'Drader' on many sites, has sadly passed away after a short illness. I'll remember David as being an extremely knowlegeable enthusiast, who was always willing to share his knowledge with others. Rest in peace David.

My sincere condolences to his family. His family have asked that any donations be made to the St.David's Foundation Hospice.

Richard, David's brother has asked me to post Davids' profile from Armorama:

From south Wales originally, I became an archaeologist by chance and have continued being one for about 20 years. Which is a lot of mud shifted. The nursing home where I was born is now part of the Celtic Manor and, by a nice bit of irony, I did the archaeology for several of their golf courses. I have managed to escape being on Time Team, when they came to Essex I went to work in France until it was safe to return. I now live on the edge of Chelmsford. Spend most of the time in the office now, doing all the stuff Time Team never shows (and surfing Armorama). Been modelling since before 1970 (not exactly sure when I started) and have been building AFVs almost as long. I like to think that I began at the beginning with the Airfix WW1 tank, but that may just be wishful thinking. Interests as far as armour goes are basically anything not WW2 German.

Vinnie

That is very sad news. It's always unplesent hearing of someones passing who you don't personally know but even more so when it's someone who you share a hobby or interest with.

My thoughts to his family

Always difficult to grasp when a person passes on so young.
My sincere condolences to David's family and friends.

This is terrible news,

I never met David but we chatted loads on line about British Desert Armour, he gave me a lot of advice on Crusaders and even some bits and pieces to help me on my way.

He will be sorely missed by many in the modelling world for his extensive knowledge.

My condolences go to his Family and Friends

Sad news for the internet modelling community.

Like many here and on other sites, I never met David but I always enjoyed crossing swords with him on obscure military matters. He's missed already.

Here's to you David.
