Hi Guy's
Yep I'm a very lucky/happy man.
Deano I promised the missus she could have Driving lessons :o .
Vinnie No thanks to the South of France maybe South Carolina USA ( got friends there). As for Shed's for everyone not quite The shed nearest to the New one is full of All the Kit's & other modelling stuff from the old place, the middle shed is full of all the camping gear for the Civil War reenacting & modern camping the nearest shed is tools & Mum's disabled Buggy. :)
Woody As wide as the Lens would go
Yngve Light's on extension cable at the moment
Matt That's nearly what the Guy next door said when He saw it  .

Super Cool thread Gents!

I love all of these set-ups! I'd happily build a model in any one!
Plenty of great ideas for my work place mixed in there too.

No Barry Manilow, and no blue balls- but more shelves might be good!

Hi
What a Week I've had with the shed. I've built all the benches & shelves that I need & painted them which was great. :D
How it looked at the start a complete mess.

Then by the end of the week it looked like this as I'd promised myself that I'd be Modelling by Sunday ;)

Just need to get the electric's connected to the mains.
Then this Morning Disaster struck in that the shed I'd stored all my kit's made & unmade had Leaked badly  :o :( .

So I didn't get to do any modelling apart from sorting out which boxes are damaged beyond keeping & which can be dried out. ******.
All the boxes on there sides are draining water out. There's about 30 kit boxes & 25 Figure boxes all soaking wet. I've taken some in & using the missus hairdrier am starting to dry them out.
Oh Well I'll get modelling sometime.

Shaun

Shaun-
the work benches, shelves, and paint job look great. What an improvement in terms of utility.

Compared to that - a few wet kits barely warrants mentioning.

You've lost some boxes and some decal sheets- the rest is recoverable.

Hi Steve
Yep that's the way I'm looking at it now. I'm not a collect of kits I'm a builder ;) . So there's no need for me to get upset over some boxes. :)
It just a pain drying them out to store again.
Oh well at least I know what some of my future builds will be now.

Hello Shaun,

You take the cake for the best workshop i say  . Lovely place to hide and lose yourself from the real world :)

Shame about the water damage. At least the plastic survives and you just need after market decals!

Post Re: Show us yer workbench
Hello everyone,

Well some of my projects need some serious thought about painting and it's time to clean up the old airbrush and get the compressor out :P

Then i realised all my paints are still boxed up from the house move. Now if i am to find what i want and have any sort of organisation the paint rack needs to come out too. It can be seen in my previous workspace. I made it from scrap pine and have had it have had it for years and years :P

Image

I have though, decided to improve and upgrade the trusty old paint rack. So i paid a visit to the hardware store on the way home and bought some timber...

Image

A mitre saw is a great thing to have and keeps the cuts all nice and square on this small timber...

Image

After making some measurements and sizing up the old rack i did some cutting and had a nice pile of bits. No ejector pin marks to fill or flash and mold lines to clean up  ...

Image

Some nails and some wood glue to add strength to the joins and i turned out this...

Image

This will become the front door, being hinged to the old rack and the whole thing mounted on the wall.

Image

A piece of laminate or the like will be attached to the front. I will then have maximum paint storage for the same space the old rack used to take up, just a little deeper. Lots of shelves though..... :D

Not bad for an afternoons work. I cut the frame for the Loon base while i was at it.
