Vinnie Vinnie- I have not seen this particular Wedgie- but I have seen their Tiger I, Panzer IV, US Halftrack, and KV-II wedgies. The detail is nice and crisp on the ones I've seen. I do agree that the hits on the side of the turret are a little strange. Anything that big would have gone through. Actuall photos of knocked out STZ T-34's support this. The Darius Miniatures Wedgies are designed to be manufactured in a single pour- or a single pour with a few additional parts. The focus is on being able to take the kit out of the box and be moving on to painting in a short time. When these things are skillfully painted- they look fabulous. Darius makes a nice , unique product and the price is pretty decent too. I recommend them! With so many new painting products and techniques out there I think items like this are needed. Who wants to try a new paint technique on something you have invested a lot of time in? Steve

 Re: Latest Acquisitions Thread
With the end of my university career rapidly approaching, it is time to prepare for an (hopefully) enourmous influx of free modelling time Today's loot: Two RB Model M1919 30cal barrels, looking extremely nice. Attachment:

Cheap Eduard M4 headlight guards, should be a big improvement for the older kits in my stash. Attachment:

Academy's machine gun set, which comes with a large variety of additional materials and even decals for the ammo boxes. Attachment:

In case it wasn't obvious enough already what my next project will be? Attachment:

Some of these folks will end up in a little scene with another recent project of mine...more on that soon The set comes with maps printed on the box flaps and two photo etched glasses by Aber, which is a neat addition. Attachment:

At last, these were available again after a LONG period of being out of stock everywhere. Too many old Panzer III kits in my stash to let such an opportunity pass. Attachment:

That's it for now Philipp

 Re: Latest Acquisitions Thread
Philipp How highly do you rate those Tristar tracks?? Worth seeking out or go for Modelkasten?

 Re: Latest Acquisitions Thread
They have very good detail and snap together, however the fit isn't very tight. It's probably best to treat them like Magic Tracks and glue them together before you fit them to the model. In any case they are much cheaper than Modelkasten tracks, which certainly influenced my decision I've used them before, on my sIG 33 build: Still without glue here: Philipp

 Re: Latest Acquisitions Thread
Stewart, not jealous at all. No. Nope. Not me. Not at all. No way. Didn't want any of those kits anyway. Seriously, fantastic haul! Cheers, Ian

Great haul Stewart!
You can skip Ian's "Planned builds for 2012" thread. You have at least a years worth of work there!
