 Re: Reading....
Well I will have to get the Chris Ryan book and educate myself. IIRC Chris Ryan was the team member who got separated from the team and walked to Jordan! Steve

 Re: Reading....
Couldn't find the Kindle this afternoon and needed something to read while "watching" the kids at Kung Fu so I decided to read this again It's the story of 1 Royal Anglian Regiments 2007 tour of Helmand. Chris

 Re: Reading....
Reading is one of my favourite things. At the moment I'm reading Musashi, a 1000 page samurai epic based on the life story of the famous swordsman Miyamoto Musahi. A fabulous read.
Picking up on the talk about Sherlock Holmes in the earlier posts I have to say that I have been a massive Holmes fan all my life, having read all the stories as a teenager as well as being a fan of the Jeremy Brett Series. I recently read Anthony Horowitz's Holmes novel "The House of Silk" and would highly recommend it to any Holmes fan for it's authenticity as it's lovingly crafted in the style of Conan Doyle.
To round up and to remain in-keeping with the nature of this site I found myself excited when in Waterstones bookshop the other day when I noticed that Anthony Beevor is releasing a new book entitled World War Two. Should be interesting. I found Stalingrad, Berlin and D-Day to be excellent reads.
Alex.

 Re: Reading....
Hi
Like Alex I love reading, and its another hobby. My WWII reference is part of my modelling and there are some reading books but, I guess like most of us, they tend to be very picture and factual type books.
I have several reading passions, Italian detectives, Montelbano, Zen and Brunetti; alternative reality Vampire Fae worlds, Laurell Hamilton, Charlaine Harris, Kim Harrison, Chloe Neill, Lillith Saintcrow and Nalini Singh. The penny has just dropped that all the alternative authors are ladies!
I read when I am waiting, for SHMBO, doctors, hospitals etc.
Now I have a work station, I will be modelling more, hopefully, but I always have 2 books in my bag, for whenever I'm just waiting for something to happen.

 Re: Reading....
For a more balanced account of B20 I would recommend anyone to read Michael Asher http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/a/michael-asher/real-bravo-two-zero.htm The real Bravo Two Zero. It kind of separates fact from fiction. Alex, I love the Musashi books, is it the Five Rings you are reading or Eiji Yoshikawa's novels? Last book I read, apart from my daughters collection of "True Blood" novels! was Rifleman by Victor Gregg with Rick Stroud, the recollection of a pre-war regular Rifle Brigade soldier, through the war to his adventures behind the Iron Curtain in later life. Simon It's the Eiji Yoshikawa novel. I have already read the book of five rings along with the others of it's type; Hagakure and the Art of War etc. I'm also a fan of the Kazuo Koike & Goseki Kojima graphic novel series, Lone wolf and cub; Samurai Executioner and Path of the assassin. Alex.

 Re: Reading....
Alex,
I must have read the books half a dozen times and find something new every time, must admit though I find the more philosophical writings a little too dry, I have tried Sun Tzu a few times but really can't get into it.
Happy reading
Simon
