 Hello From Sunny Newbury!
My good friend (and leader) Ian Shumsky introduced me and posted a few photos of my work a couple of days ago, I was blown away by the positive response I received from you people so how could I not join up with you?
I'm Kevin, 54 years old and live in Newbury, Berks, UK. I am a member of Newbury IPMS. I'm a retired police officer and having worked 32 years in central London, have moved to the country to breath fresh air.
I've been modelling for a few years but only recently given the hobby serious time and commitment. My interest lies in pre-war and WWII armour, almost exclusively German and because of the seemingly endless build variants, camouflage and painting options. (tried the allied stuff, too much olive green!!)
My other interest is music, my tastes will date me but I love the Grateful Dead and can listen to them for hours, good background sounds for fiddling with small bits of plastic!
Can I start my membership with a poser? I am building variants of the Panzer I and want to track down a Spanish Civil war variant armed with a 2cm Breda cannon in an adapted turret. My only options appear to be either an old Masterbox kit which doesn't look too good or a LeadWarriors conversion set which seems to be out of print, any other options/thoughts will be most welcome.
I look forward to hearing from you and participating in the forum.
