 EDITORIAL II
When I started this site, one of the most important things I wanted it to achieve, was a place for modellers to come to, where they could share their work, and have discussions about the hobby, and a few laughs besides, completely without the trepidation one feels when you think somebody is 'having a go'.
So far it's been a highly successful policy. I should hope that nobody gets that stomach turning feeling when they see a new post go up, or when somebody has sent them a private message. There have been a few instances in the past, but make no mistake...if anybody gets that kind of message sent to them, tell me and the offending person will dissapear from this board. A few people have also dissapeared from the forums since we begun. I don't apologise for it either. They know the rules, if they don't want to play by them then they can sod off and play with all the other idiots that like that sort of thing somewhere else.
For the same reason we probably haven't grown as fast as we could. I've stopped an awful lot of people signing up with a stupid username. Only yesterday somebody wanted to be caled 'Yepyepyep'. He needs help. A few have slipped through though, one day I'll get around to changing them when I have more time. I still don't see why people can't use their real names as Username, and I'm seriously considering changing the system so that people have to use their name.
Finally, twice in the last few days I've been contacted by users more or less demanding to know what happened to their photographs they submited for a photo feature. Their initial 'tone' was one of confrontation. And it's unecessary and unlikely to get results. I get busy. Sometimes I forget to reply to people, sometimes I never received them in the first place. Ask nicely. Please try to remember though, that non-publication is my decision and nobody elses.
Vinnie

 Re: EDITORIAL II
Have to agree with the others, Vinnie, I think your doing a great job of building this site into a place you can chat about & show your work without any fear. The site may not have grown quickly, but it certainly has grown strongly! Keep it up Cheer for now Mike

 Re: EDITORIAL II
I have to echo what the other guys said, this site is probably the most friendliest place on the web, great job boss and well done again on a great site,i also think using real and full names is a good idea and i would not object to having brooksy changed to phill brooks.
phill.

 Re: EDITORIAL II
I'll add my support to this latest editorial.
I have to strongly agree with my fellow forum members - MA is the best armour site about by no small measure.
Cheers
Karol

 Re: EDITORIAL II
How do people feel about having to use their real full names on site?

 Re: EDITORIAL II
If that's the policty you want, then is not unreasonable Vinnie
The only thing I would say though, is that people may have reasons for not wanting to post their full names on the site. Just as a 'for instance' I used to be a headhunter, and googling people was a common way of gathering information. Some people may want to contribute to the site without people googling them (for whatever reason) to know they 'do' the hobby
The flip side of course, is that psuedonyms encourage people with a malicious bent to flame as their 'secret identity' lets them think they can get away with it, so ultimately I'd say its your call
