Post Celticwerks- JFE Scratchbuilding Seminar April 15th/2012
Hello everyone,

Thought I would post up some picture of the seminar I had the pleasure of attending today. The show was completely put on by Celticwerks (Steve) and Mr. Joe Farina of Farina Enterprises.

The two collaborated to bring a workshop to us with a specially cast base from Joe and scratch building techniques from our own Steve Reid. Amazing time. For a small price they supplied everything but the brushes to put the paint on...including coffee and doughnuts in the morning and a excellent lunch not to mention the materials not only to build two Farina/Celticwerks bases but some free-bees from Joe as well.

With that, here are some pics....

First........

Steve, Thank you to you and Joe for all the hard work and sacrifice to put on a show like this. Had a blast!!! I hope to see more of these and an increase in the attendance!! The venue was great as was the food and drink, but most of all the gathering!!!

Some pics......

Here is the hall before the show. Big thanks goes out to the members of the DAV (Disabled American Veterens) for the use of the hall.

Of course I needed to snap a couple pics of mine once I got home ::)

Shh...i stole Chris's idea of putting the gate valve on top of the elbow. 8-)

Again, Steve and Joe have outdone themselves and put on an excellent seminar. I am looking forward to more show in the future and hope to see more people plan shows like this all over. Great to get together with friends and build new things, try new things, hang out, eat and drink and just have a really fun time!

Thank you again Steve and Joe!!!

Looks like it was a lot of fun. I worked all month to get the time off, but it never came through :(

AMPS East is an absolute however! I'll call in sick if I need to on that one.

Todd-
glad you enjoyed it- we will have to put together a show report (Feature).

I got home last night cleaned the 28 paint pallettes we used, and I was wiped out!

MA regulars in attendence:
Myself, Todd Michalak, Steve Kubik, and Jim Zivlitis.

We had enough space that we could have accommodated 50 participants- we had 22.
That was enough money for Joe and I to feed everyone, rent the hall and break even!

If anyone would be interested in running a similar event in your area- contact me.
It was a really good time.

I need to get Gary boxall to fly over and present one on Soldering....

Steve

Thanks for posting this Todd,

and look forward to the feature Steve too.

I for one would love to attend such a "tricks of the trade" show, but there doesn't seem to be much in the north of England/Yorkshire. I keep looking in events on site and generally on the Web but there isn't much happening. I would even travel some to get to an event, even with petrol getting to £1.40 a litre :o :(

If there is anything local, that anyone knows about, please let me know, I would love to "join in" and hopefully add to what MA is "teaching" me.

Very jealous of you guys and what looked like a really good day out

I would have let the pallets sok or popped em in the dishwasher Steve! 8-)

What ever you need from me for the feture, let me know. I still have an unpainted base and some parts as well as these pics!

Steve H. - Steve R. added in his comment if anyone was interested in putting a show together...contact him. I moderate over on Rob's (scratchmod) site. I know that some of our UK bretheren would be interested as well. I will certainly ask the question and see where it leads! Anything is possible ;)

Hi
Looks like you Guy's had a great day.
Lucky
If you do a show/works over this side of the pond I'd be interested.
Steve H. There's a Show on in Perth on the 28/29 th this month probably a little far for you.
The nearest show for you would be the Huddersfield show which I thinks in Febuary ( just missed).

Shaun

Well, Steve would certainly have more details on how this would work. But, in the meantime I have contacted a couple of your fello countrymen to see how many may be interested there as well....might be more than we think. Of course Steve contols the logistics on this but it does not hurt to find out!! :D
