 TII camouflage
Otherwise known as 'disc type'.
From what I can ascertain, it was introduced around Aug / Sept 1944 and applied mainly to JPIVs and Panthers. I have found plenty of images of Jagdpanzer IVs with this camo, but none with zimmerit.
My question is, was this scheme ever applied to a JP IV with zimmerit as I certainly can't find evidence of one?
Any help gratefully appreciated.
Gary

 Re: TII camouflage
Hi Gary just what you didn't want I have had a look around and found nothing This particular point seems to be a discussion on several forums both past and current, but as the picture is only "sans" zimmerit, it could be a rare beast. I believe there is no/little surviving live film of the Pz IV Jagdpanzer, so its likely the same for the actual vehicle and therefore whatever type of camo was applied I guess there is always "poetic license" but maybe it wasn't that easy to 't apply to the zimmerit coating so they just didn't If you imagine it isn't going to be easy to apply it to 1:35, would it be harder to get a good finish with the real ting Sorry but no help here Steve H

 Re: TII camouflage
Hi Gary I don't know if you have checked this site yet "I recently lost all my reference in a catastrophic computer crash but most of the images I worked from came from this site http://forum.axishistory.com/viewforum.php?f=47. It's a huge site and takes some getting used to just to navigate, it's full of really great images though. Simon" I popped on quickly and there are 570 references to the Jagdpanzer IV. Its from Simon Briggs new blog on an little artillery tracker, that looks quite cute. Hope it helps if you haven't already tried it Steve H

 Re: TII camouflage
Thanks guys. Seems you've simply confirmed my suspicions which is exactly what I needed If anything Steve, it's exactly the answer I wanted. While I would love to portray a TII type camo, I'm glad in many ways that it doesn't seem applicable to this particular JPIV due to the complexity of the shape/parts etc. I can now go ahead and stick on teh rest of teh PE parts before painting Guess I'll have to get myself a Panther to use the disc camo stencils (At least Deano will be happy ) Gary

 Re: TII camouflage
Hi Gary,
Jagdpanzer IV with a Zimmerit coating were painted in dark yellow. In late August they had an irregular spray camo with red brown and dark green stripes. The Dragon box art of this kit shows the correct camo.
