Post Centaur
Painting - spraying at least - is all on hold at the moment due to renovations so rather than sitting idly by and watching everyone else have fun, thought I'd pull this one from the stash.
Nothing too grand planned, just a few aftermarket goodies and the usual (for me at least :P ) photoetch...

Image

Sets from Aber and Eduard covering fenders, stowage boxes, deep wading gear and other bits and pieces..

Image

More brass bits...

Image

A much better option than the vinyl tracks :? ...

Image

And a Bison set to compliment the Tamiya decals...

Post Re: Centaur
For no reason at all, I decided to start with the turret for this build.

The 95mm gun is up first...

Image

Rather than worry about removing the join line along the barrel, I opted to replace the entire barrel with some styrene tube...

Image

Coaxial 2 part brass Besa MG in place...

Image

Front armour plate. I'm replacing the rivets with turned brass ones from AFV Club....

Image

I then added the small welds on each flat using stretched sprue...

Image

And with the gun in place...

Image

The turret....

Image

Loader's periscope is removed and replaced with a clear styrene one from the spares box...

Image

With the Eduard periscope cover in place and the dial sight cover, etc...

Image

The gun assembly fits snugly to the turret front...

You're missing one bit of bling there Gary, ITA RMASG cap badges ;)

Nice start on a kit I keep meaning to add to the stash.

I'm trying to get hold of one of these as I made onre a few years ago and it wasn't too good. One thing, Don't fit the lifting hooks
to the turret until after you've done the decals as they don't fit. Guess hoe I found that out.

can I ask why you replaced the rivets though? the both look the same to me in terms of sharpness and Tamiya even did the welds?

To be honest, i wondered exactly the same thing :)

Got it in one

I think that they do offer better clarity - but I guess the final proof will be following paint :D

Craig.
I built one of these a while back and know what you mean about the hooks. I didn't fall into that trap but can see how it's easy to do :?

More updates to follow real soon ;)
