 Bunkerstrasse/Der Stabsbunker 1/35
I`ve been keeping myself busy with a new project which has turned my workbench into a total mess,so I decided to show what I have done so far, while I tidy the bench to be able to make some progress During ww2 the germans built tons of bunkers and fortifications, from calm and peaceful atlantik coastal villages to the little more chaotic combat zones around europe and afrika bunkers was built. Many was in concrete and rock and then some was more hastily built using timber. I`m a big bunker fan and the other day I found myself walking out of the flower shop with a big bundle of flowersticks. So I had little choice but to put on a kettle and start cutting mini-timber. The idea for the dio is still developing,I want several figures in it,maybe even a motorcycle or kubelwagen. I sort of know which figures I will use but havent any of them in my stash, yet. All we know for sure is that it will be a "2-layer" dio,top surface, and underground bunker. Well, enough words, here are some pics.. I m using Flexi-Bark to make the sticks less uniform..

 Re: Bunkerstrasse/Der Stabsbunker 1/35
A view inside. In the foreground I will place a table with 2 or 3 officers and a few NCOs in a discussion over some maps and documents, and I guess I`ll place a few other relevant items there too.. And this is where I am at right now,I have painted the logs with a few different shades to break up the monotony, and given it all a few washes. Next I`ll finish up the beds, start on the framing of the base and complete the stairs.. Im also going to hang equipment and stuff to the walls, and maybe make a gun rack too.Any comments or suggestions is always welcome

Looks nice so far Yngve. What are you planning for the roof-straw? Pam

Hi Pam,thanks for your comment. The roof will be 2 "plastic-meter" of groundwork, and I havent decided if the surface shall be sandy/gravel,or have vegetation. It was important to camoflage the bunker positions so where possible grass and moss was dug up from areas behind and re-planted atop the freshly turned soil,,so we`ll see. I will use straws in the beds and on the stamped earth bunker floor though

I love stuff like this I really like the flexi-bark. Any plans for a working light system in your subterranean world? A white/yellow LED over the group of officers could really add something.

Yngve, love this already, I agree with the fella's above, lighting will be cool. I think you also should have a bottle of schnapps/vodka on the table, well it'll be cold and damp under ground and they'll need something to stoke the internal fires! Maybe a sleeping dog as well, seen so many pi6+ctures of the period where they have a small dog with them.

Thanks for dropping in guys I have been thinking about having a LED in the roof of the bunker, but I havent decided on it yet. I had a hard time finding the correct LEDs for the museum project,so we`ll see. I`ll definetly have lights in the Atlantikwall bunker project I m going to build next. Those bunker interiors from verlinden will come in handy too I think I have a small dog,and a tiny bottle of vodka around here somewhere too.
