 Re: AFV Club LVT-4
Evening, y'all.... I think I’m done with the jeep. I’ve added stowage that I hope would be appropriate for medical supplies. The driver is a Verlinden jeep driver. I know the uniform is not correct, but it’s the closest I could find, so I just painted it in USMC colors and changed the head out. I’ve always thought that Marine dungarees were a mix of Field Grey and Sky grey. I gave the base color another go ‘round and darkened the grey with some black. I think it turned out better. This is just about done. I’m still working on crew figures for the LVT. I’ve added some random stowage on the LVT. There wasn’t much room in the cargo area if it was going to carry a jeep, so stowage was kept to a minimum. A couple of crew figures to go, some trim around the base and it’ll be done. Just in time for the AFV Club M42 Duster…which should be here in a couple of days….. I may add some "stuff" to the base, maybe trying to make it look like an aid station. We'll see.

 Re: AFV Club LVT-4
Hello Steve, Just catching up with this. Nice work on the Jeep, but i do love the LVT! What a great job on the colours and weathering! It has that faded, sun drenched, salt exposed look as would be expected for the theatre. Was reading too the little debate about the sand colour. I think you really nailed it this time around! The only thing that jumps out at me is the Jeep coming off the LVT ramp. Their are no wheel furrows in the sand from the Jeeps front wheels. I imagine there would be? Hopefully it's not too late to make some? Woody...

Thanks for the comments, Woody.
Actually, there are furrows in the sand. You just can't see them in the pictures and can't see them well while sitting in front of it. THe jeep isn't glued in yet, so I might just have to lighten the area up some.

Hello Steve that's turned out to be a very neat looking diorama. the sand looks a lot better now that you've added that black. I like it a lot, well done

Thanks, Shaun.
I see you list your location as Kilbirnie. That's southwest of Glasgow, isn't it? I spent 3 years at RAF Edzell, just north of Dundee. I travelled extensively throughout Scotland. Beautiful country and marvelous people. I'll have to come back someday.

It is looking good Steve. The sand does look much better now. Not that it look bad to begin with.
