I'm glad you got a feature from it. The model is superb, but there's just something I really like in the tall vs. short elements of the truck and the pillars. Well done!

If you decide to transport this one to a show, do the pillars come loose, or are they attached?

Thanks Chris, Yngve and John. The pillars are epoxied on as is everything else except the truck. Been wondering if I should glue the truck on too and if so how. These are the rubber tires and I'd have to epoxy them or figure out how to anchor a pin on the truck. Any ideas how or if I should? Pam

Pam, I've fixed similar vehicles to bases, and as long as the wheels are fixed and don't rotate, I just drill them and superglue a short length of wooden cocktail stick in. These can fit into corresponding holes in the base, without gluing, so it's secure but can be removed if necessary.

Pam the large pictures do this even more justice

The standout bits for me are the vehicle weathering and the figure painting. The faces appear sunburnt and haggard - exactly reminiscent of the wartime pics of SAS troopers

What a Fabulous first Photo Feature :D

How exactly did you do the sandy base with tyre tracks etc??
Congratulations

Rob

Hello Pam
Glad to see this as a feature, the larger pic's are great. Great figure's .
2nd one being built yet once the diorama bug's biten you. you never stop.
As for fixing the vehicle down I always do. ( little kid's fingers at show's always want to pick things up) I usually do something similar to what Vinnie said. I use either small Brass Nails & a small amount of superglue or if it's armour & you can hide it a bolt through the base into the hull .

Thanks Rob, Shaun and Vinnie. I'll see about using Vinnie's suggestion for the tires but these are rubber tires so will cocktail sticks still work OK? I could still use some stiff wire if not.
Rob-the sandy base with tyre tracks comes that way. I think most of the online photos of this Verlinden base doesn't really show the details that well but the resin was made that way. I got it cheap from a hobby store in Arizona and he picked it up from an estate sale! You can still get it and it's called 1/35 Middle East/North Africa Ancient Temple Ruin.
