Ahh! I've seen them on Stuart's stand (SB Models) at shows. I never linger on them long though as the price induces nausea. :P

After a little break I have this vignette on the bench again. I wasnt sure how to make the big pile of spent ammo casings but I finally found something that might work. Thanks for the micro rods you sent Vinnie. I couldnt use them for this dio,but they will come in handy in a future project :) So,I had the perfect sized wire right in front of me all the time,I just couldnt see it until I stripped the electricals from a wall lamp. I`ve been spending a few hours now cutting the wire into the correct lenghts and there is still a lot more to go. I made a base for the main body of the ammo pile from cigaret paper and whiteglue which I will cover with the wire pieces..

Yngve,

Glad to see this one back moving again and it is looking good.

This looks a little like the shag carpet my wife and I saw in a house we were considering buying years ago, it hadn't been updated since the mid-70s. :P

 Hopefully this will look less like a 70`s carpet when Im done :D Im starting to go crazy from cutting all this wire into tiny ammo casings but I still have another 50 or 100 left to make. I made a few spare barrels from the brass rod Vinnie sent me.

Great work Yngve. I hope you're also drilling one end out of each of those casings ;)

Looks really good mate, all that brass suggests some serious fighting, you'll need the spare barrels for sure. Don't worry about going crazy mate the end result will be worth the effort and anyway sanity is very over rated!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the comments guys. I am getting to the finishing stages with the little vignette.Today I ve been fixing the ammo boxes and spare barrel cases to the base and started finish up the figure. I ll do the shadows using pigments, paint and weather the boots and give a last wash to the flesh areas tomorrow morning. The last step will be to paint the helmet with its camo cloth cover, always fun to do ss camoflage :?

get some of the really fine brass tube from Griffon etc., cut into lenghts of the appropriate size, seal one end of each with superglue

Vinnie,

How do you cut the tube without crushing it?

I love the "log" bunker Yngve. This should make a great little scene.
