There's loads of different techniques and materials out there...
Balsa is my favourite, and best... though not the cheapest!

Frerik- I have to say I hate you and now that I think about it everyone else on the site as well. LOL. I started this hobby a little over a year ago. I thought to myself OK I built models as a child and it was not to expensive(parents bought them for me) so lets start again and build some armour, then I found MA. Armour turned into figures then, bases, then trees and foilage, some mini art buildings(still in boxes) and now you show us this. Your work on these are amazing thanks for sharing.

That is how I thought in the beginning... everyone is better!
Well.... most people still are!

Sculpting is my thing, true, but even there I consider myself a beginner.
I too can look at someone else's paintwork, etch, sculting building, scratching in awe!

But that is the great thing about this site, people will tell you how to do things, share and show.... but never harass or embaress you when you can't reach their level.....

That is probably why I just share this Pam......
I'd rather share and help then make money.....
( hence till not rich and famous )

Frerik-I don't think I meant it for you to make money I just think it could reach a wide audience then armor modelers. I'm sure there are tons of fantasy and car modelers and who knows who else that will never see this web site and your fantastic work.
