 Re: Wachtmantel
Great looking figures and fantastic figure modeling Gary! The first pic i thought must have been 1/16 scale but then i kept reading and saw it was from a 1/35 scale dragon set! One day i hope i can do this good! Woody...

 Re: Wachtmantel
Doing great work Gary. Even with all the little additions such as lead foil straps etc., it would have told if you hadn't got the colour of the sheepskin coats dead on. It's a very realistic colour and just make's them look 'real'. Vinnie

 Re: Wachtmantel
As someone who normally steers away from figures could you tell us how you painted them please?

 Re: Wachtmantel
Thanks guys. Slowly working on these in the background - hope to get some progress shots up shortly.
Stewart. Basically they are painted using acrylics. Basecolour is AB'd and then watered down darker shades are added to the creases for shadows. This is followed by a coat of Klear. When dry, I apply a pin wash and then a coat of flat matt. This allows you to dry brush the highlights using a lightened basecolour. The skin was done using acrylic flesh and eyes are also picked out at this stage. Coat of Klear followed and I then use oils for the various skin tones and when dry, a heavily diluted wash using burnt umber. Due to the cold environment these guys are being depicted in, I picked out the nose using a bit more red. Once the head is complete and fixed to the body, I then finish it off with a final coat of flat matt.
Gary
