I can recall as a young kid reading an article in a modelling magazine about an AVRE fascine carrier. For some reason, that vehicle really struck a chord with me .....

As the builder of that kit and author of that article all those years ago,(must be at least 30 years ago now) I'm chuffed it seems to have struck a chord with some of you. ....
Happy days !

Deep bow & much Kudos...

Many years ago I saw a scratched MK IV with AVLB in The Hussar(?) Hobby Shop in Salisbury opposite the Bus depot.
Deeply impressed, I've been aspiring to that ever, since, with donors from AFV Club, Tamiya & Bits from Legend, Resicast, MK & others....

one day....

Great stuff Gary, I'm surprised you're changing the turret, but I can understand if you're not happy with it. I was trying to catalogue what I have in the loft this weekend, and came across a Trakz turret for this, it's just a shame I've only just found it! Let me know if you're building another one!

Vinnie

If Gary doesn't I'm sure I could find a use for it :P

Nice work on the turret and good call on changing it, most AVRE had cast turrets from what I've read.

Bit more work completed - along with the Petard. This time round I thought I'd display it in the reloading position.
Note the black vertical lines on the barrel. There are two sprue attachment points on the barrel sides right next to a casting seam which makes cleanup quite awkward. So I removed the seam completely so I could get a nice smooth finish and the applied a couple of casting lines courtesy of Archer Transfers. These are from the same set as the casting numbers and do the job very nicely indeed...
