Space Shuttle Discovery

Thumb
Matt Parvis and John Everett have been enjoying themselves again....

The third NASA Space Shuttle, launched for the first time on August 30th, 1984.

John Everett was in town over the weekend so I picked him up and we went out to the Air and Space annex. (Udvar-Hazy)  In walking around and looking at the shuttle I kept thinking it looked different from when I was there last.  Well, it would, since they switched out the Enterprise with the Discovery something like two weeks ago.  Reading about the Discovery online I was surprised by some of the numbers it accumulated over its service life, 39 missions, 365 days in space, and 148,221,675 miles travelled.
