|Military Museum Danbury|
John Everett and his cohorts have been waylayed on their way to ArmorCon....
The Military Museum of Southern New England in Danbury, Connecticut is a small museum and restoration facility run entirely by a volunteer staff. Danbury also happens to be the location of the annual AMPS East (now called Armorcon), thus making the museum a natural stop on the road to the model show.
Myself, Steve Reid and a handful of other 'interesting' people that cannot be mentioned by name because of their pending arrest warrants, all met up and were given the full tour.
Being a small venue, we were the only visitors. The two gentlemen on staff however, were happy to allow us full access to both the basement workshop as well as the upstairs donation storage area.
The museum has a considerable outdoor collection of the vehicles awaiting restoration or sale. Most of these examples are well weathered and offer ample reference for those of us who like to do rust. The indoor collection is a considerably smaller, but completely restored, group of vehicles, artillery and items of personal gear.
